Hi Ray, loved your excellent review and found a few things of interest.
1) the new Computrainer software is an open platform and you can get the new records to your heart's content (I just want to run in the treadmill and record it) - I'm just wondering are they any issues with the data you get back being specific to the track you are using - they both seem to do a 'good' job but wondering if there is any case where this wouldn't be true?
2) I've run the computrainer on fat tyres, and haven't had any issues. I've run the computrainer on thin tyres and the power seems to drop off a bit but I don't think it's been able to make it all the way to my i8. I've also run it on a Dura Ace 9100 wheelset and it seems to have behaved well.
3) I've thought about using the computrainer on the trainer for cross-training, i.e. using it for 20 minutes then switching to my bike. Since I'm using an i8 with Tacx RLV, I'm wondering if I can use my bike power from the Tacx to calibrate the computrainer?

I need your advice on a question regarding the Computrainer. I’m planning on getting an el-cheapo garmin 910xt and a powertap for my training. I’m thinking to use the computrainer to calculate my power. Is the computrainer compatible with the garmin 910xt and will it calculate my power as well? thanks.
Hi Ray. I have a similar question. I'm a male cyclist who is planning to race a half Ironman in a couple of years. I'll have a computrainer at my side, a powertap and Mavic Ksyrium Elite wheels. I'd like to use the computrainer to calculate my power.
I've read that you can load.erg files as well as.suff files to the computrainer. Does that work? How do you do that? I've also seen some videos on how to get around the computrainer's screen which i found pretty tricky. Any idea? Cheers. J
